Umoja Incubator kicks off to empower renewable energy companies
With millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa without access to electricity and climate change challenges increasing by the day, we are in urgent need of sustainable solutions.
The Umoja Incubator is a concrete initiative to look for innovative ideas, support talent to help tackle climate change challenges, at the same time enhancing the well-being and increasing the opportunities of people in sub-Saharan Africa. The program is run by Serengeti Energy in collaboration with the Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN).
The program will provide access to commercial and technical knowledge and funding to the most promising renewable energy projects. The best projects will be nominated by a jury consisting of high-level experts in the industry. The Nordic Development Fund will also be part of this jury.
The program is funded through Serengeti’s Technical Assistance Facility, funded by the German Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), the Nordic Development Fund (NDF), the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The deadline for applications will be 4 September 2022. You can apply here.
