Our Approach to Carbon Projects

Carbon registration and additionality logic target the ABM, Article 6 mechanisms and voluntary markets alike. Every activity is first assessed for eligibility and additionality against the MRV methodologies of the relevant registries.

  1. Classify each activity by type (single project or Programme of Activities), group (reduction or removal), sector (adaptation, AFOLU, energy, waste) and activity (forestry, agricultural land management and so on).
  2. Screen eligibility, safeguards, baseline scenario and additionality.
  3. Assess non-carbon benefits, leakage and non-permanence to pick the best-suited market: adaptation or mitigation, regulatory or voluntary.
  4. Select MRV methodologies and extract the data needed for performance indicators.
  5. Estimate credit-generation potential with its uncertainties.
Measured data, modelled estimates and verified outcomes are kept separate. An estimate is never presented as an issued or verified carbon credit.
