Pillar 1 evaluates the carbon sequestered in cashew biomass across about 1.4 million hectares. Activities include improved forest management (IFM), agricultural land management (ALM), life cycle analysis (LCA) and green-infrastructure policies and planning.
Activities are screened for eligibility, baseline and additionality, with safeguards, leakage and non-permanence assessed early. The outputs are tree inventories, plot measurements, biomass estimates and a shortlist of activities suited to ABM, Article 6 or voluntary markets.
